Getting Started
Welcome to Resonote! This guide will help you understand the core features of our application and how to use them effectively to transcribe and analyze your audio.
Live Transcription
The "Transcribe" tab is your main hub for capturing audio. You can choose from three different sources:
Tab Audio
Captures audio specifically from the current browser tab. Ideal for transcribing videos, podcasts, or online meetings running in your browser.
Microphone
Uses your computer's microphone to record your voice or in-person meetings. Ensure you have granted microphone permissions to the app.
System Audio
Captures all audio playing on your computer. This is perfect for recording meetings from desktop apps like Zoom or Teams.
Background Recording
Need to multitask? The "Background" sub-tab allows you to record audio from a tab even when you're not actively viewing it.
- Open Background Tab: Launches a dedicated tab for recording.
- Mute Toggle: Optionally mute the tab so you don't hear the audio while it's being recorded.
- Rapid Transcribe: Use this for faster processing when accuracy is less critical.
AI Insights
Resonote doesn't just transcribe; it understands. The "AI Insights" tab offers powerful analysis tools:
Analysis Tools
- Quick Summary: Get a brief overview of the main points.
- Detailed Analysis: A deep dive into the content, structure, and key themes.
- Extract Actions: Automatically identifies tasks and action items from meetings.
AI Chat Assistant
Have a specific question about the transcript? Use the built-in chat to ask the AI assistant. For example, "What did John say about the budget?" or "Summarize the marketing plan."
History & Export
All your transcriptions are automatically saved to the "History" tab.
- Search: Quickly find past transcriptions by keyword.
- Filter: Sort by date or type.
- Export: Download your transcripts as text files or copy them to your clipboard.
